DESCRIPTION:Celebrate a piece of Brookings history! Join us for the grand unveiling of the America's 250th Community Mural on Thursday\, June 4\, at 7:00 PM at the VFW George Dokken Post (520 Main Ave). This community mosaic mural is a true community project\, featuring over 950 individual tiles hand-painted by Brookings residents. The VFW parking lot will be reserved for participants to gather as we reveal this lasting tribute to the spirit of Brookings. Following the ceremony\, the VFW will be open to the public for anyone who would like to head inside and continue the celebration! The mural is a project of the Brookings Regional Growth Alliance and funded by a grant from the Brookings Public Arts Commission.
