Brookings Area Interagency Council is a non-profit which oversees the two programs for individuals of varying abilities listed below. To keep these programs available for years to come, they accept donations year-round. Checks can be sent to their PO Box.

  • S.T.A.R.S. (Brookings Area Special Training And Riding Skills)

S.T.A.R.S. is a non-profit organization which focuses on using horseback riding as a form of physical and emotional therapy to individuals of varying abilities. This program offers a safe, monitored environment for uniquely abled people to partake in horseback riding while also playing games, socializing with other riders, and creating bonds with the horses.

  • Brookings Area Camp Adventure

Brookings Area Camp Adventure is a day camp experience for individuals with disabilities. Camp Adventure is a non-profit organization fiscally represented by Brookings Interagency Council and is funded in part by the Brookings Area United Way. Additional funding comes from Brookings area businesses, organizations, individuals and camper fees.
